Play Paintings

Our theme this year in the studio department is "play," so I have been making several abstract and experimental oil/acrylic paintings in response to this. There have been some major failures-which I'll likely not be posting many of those on here :)- but there have been some successes as well. These paintings are all on thin, aluminum plates and are 12" by 12"

This last painting is based on a blurry picture of a patio that I took at a hostel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This aesthetic idea is something I have been experimenting with, especially as I pay attention to and seek ordinary but interesting parts of buildings and architecture.
