Imports

I have been bad lately about putting pictures of my work up, but within the next couple days I'll get it all up here. Here's a photo of one of my newest sculptures titled "Imports". I acquired a lot of these beautiful burlap sacks from a local chocolate company, found the blue beam in the back of the sculpture building, and borrowed some rusty nails from my teacher. The only thing I bought was the yarn.

I know you can see the people's hands holding it up, but until it's actually displayed this will have to do :) I would love to do a whole show continuing with this idea...

Art at Communal

I went into Communal with my husband this morning for brunch. I brought my camera just to take a few pictures of them on display and noticed my large 3' x 3' painting was not hung up. As it turns out, on Thursday a gentleman from out of town loved it, bought it, and shipped it home!

New show at a new gallery

I have some very exciting news! I have been accepted to have a solo art show at a brand new gallery opening next month in Provo called Gallery 468. I will be exhibiting the same body of work that will be showing at BYU, so if you can't make it to that opening reception, be sure and make it to this one! The reception is scheduled for April 6th, which is a Friday. The gallery hours are 5-9 pm Thurs-Sat. Be sure to check them out regardless and support the arts in Utah County!

Communal Restaurant

I was just recently extended the opportunity to put up my art in a restaurant here in Provo called Communal. They have a sustainable menu which changes weekly, they use as much local produce/products as possible, and... the food is insanely delicious! They sell local art as well, and I just got back from hanging up eleven pieces of art work. They will be up until we move to Portland the beginning of May, so if your in the neighborhood be sure to stop by.

Solo Show this March

Dearest Friends, Fans, and Family...

I am so pleased to announce that I have been approved to have a solo art show at my university, BYU. It is scheduled for March 16-30, and will be in the Harris Fine Arts Center. The opening reception will likely be that Friday night, March 16. If you live anywhere close by you should come on down for it. I'll be serving some delicious little bites and will be there to answer any and all questions concerning the show. My show is inspired by the 20 studies project I did in November and December... below is one of the pieces I'll be featuring. I have A LOT of work to do between now and then, but I could not be more excited about it!

The deconstructed, cliche still life 1

It took me a while, but I finally went back and worked into my latest intaglio print. I love the new dimension those little bits of color add to the piece. I cut this one down pretty close to the page, and I wanted to show you all the beautiful torn edges of the paper. That's why I didn't crop it down all the way... more soon to come!
